Boulevard, CA (May 12, 2020) - A crash reported in Boulevard, California left two people seriously injured on Monday, May 11th. The collision occurred at the intersection of I-8 and Crestwood Road near the Golden Acorn Casino. According to local reports, a 2013 Subaru WRX traveling west on I-8 collided with the back of a commercial vehicle at around 7:30 a.m. 

Following the crash, crossed the median and came to a stop on the eastbound lanes of the highway. The driver, 21-year-old Justin Strawder, and his 18-year-old, female passenger were transported to Sharp Memorial hospital in San Diego for treatment. Strawder was later taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
