San Diego, CA - Woman Struck by Teen Driver on Clairemont Mesa Blvd

San Diego, CA (May 12, 2020) - A 69-year-old pedestrian suffered critical injuries after being struck in the Clairemont area on Sunday, May 10th. The collision took place at around 10:30 p.m. at the 5400 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. Authorities responded to the scene to render aid to the injured party. 

The woman was crossing Clairemont Mesa Boulevard when she was struck by an eastbound 2000 Dodge Caravan driven by a 19-year-old man. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of a pelvic fracture and a head laceration. The driver remained at the scene and intoxication is not believed to have been a factor in the crash. 

Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
