Chula Vista, CA – UPDATE: Fatal Victim in I-5 Pileup was War Veteran
Chula Vista, CA (February 4, 2020) – The victim of a deadly multi-vehicle accident in Chula Vista, California has been identified. The accident took place Saturday, February 1st, on I-5 SB near L Street around 5 a.m. The victim, a new father and war veteran, was identified as David Ramirez, 23.
Authorities were notified of a wrong-way collision on I-5. Ramirez’s vehicle had been hit head-on by a wrong-way driver, causing the vehicle to overturn many times. Local sources reported that at least seven vehicles were involved in the accident.
No other details have been released at this time. An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
