El Cajon, CA – Passenger Injured in DUI Crash on Washington Ave
El Cajon, CA (January 28, 2020) – Early Tuesday, January 28th, in El Cajon, California, a suspected drunk driver crashed into a utility pole, causing a power outage for nearly 1,700 residents in the area. The accident happened at the 1300 block of Washington Avenue around 4:15 a.m. Authorities reported that a man driving an SUV collided with a San Diego Gas & Electric utility pole.
Initial reports revealed that a female passenger was injured in the crash. She was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Authorities believed the driver was intoxicated and arrested him at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
