Escondido, CA – UPDATE: Man Charged in Fatal Crash on Harmony Grove Rd
Escondido, CA (February 2, 2020) – The identity of the driver who caused a fatal multi-vehicle collision near Escondido, California on Friday, January 31st, has been revealed. According to local authorities, Ardeshir Tooraji, 38, of Carlsbad, California and three passengers were in a stolen SUV when the vehicle collided with a Subaru. The accident took place at around 7:40 a.m. near the intersection of Harmony Grove Road and Wild Willow Hollow Road.
The crash, which occurred on Harmony Grove Road, also involved a Toyota Prius, causing a vehicle pileup on the roadway. The Subaru overturned due to the collision, killing the 28-year-old driver from Chula Vista, California. Tooraji and his passengers were hospitalized following the collision.
Tooraji was taken into custody after the crash. An investigation into the accident is currently in progress.
