Escondido, CA – UPDATE: Victim Identified in Harmony Grove Rd Crash
Escondido, CA (February 5, 2020) – The victim who was killed in a crash on Friday morning, January 31st, in Escondido, California has been identified by authorities. At around 7:40 a.m., the accident in question occurred at the intersection of Harmony Grove Road and Wild Willow Hollow Road, near the Elfin Forest Preserve. Bernardo Valdez, 28, was killed in the accident.
Valdez was reportedly driving a Subaru WRX sedan when he veered into oncoming traffic, side-swiping a Toyota Prius before hitting a Toyota Highlander SUV. Valdez was partially ejected from the Subaru and was pronounced dead at the scene. All four occupants of the Highlander were injured in the crash.
No further updates have been provided. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
