La Mesa, CA – 2 Injured in Wrong-Way Crash at I-8 & 70th St
La Mesa, CA (March 26, 2020) – There was a serious collision reported at around midnight last night, Wednesday, March 25th, in La Mesa, California. The crash occurred on I-8 EB near 70th Street. Initial reports revealed that the collision involved a wrong-way driver on the interstate.
Two people were injured in the crash. Both parties had to be extricated from their vehicles. San Diego Police Department was notified of an SUV traveling the wrong way on the interstate and responded to the scene. According to initial reports, the SUV slammed into a red sedan.
The driver of the sedan was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, and the driver of the SUV was hospitalized in serious condition.
An investigation into the crash is being conducted by the California Highway Patrol.
