La Mesa, CA – UPDATE: Beatrice Dapolito Killed in Embankment Crash
La Mesa, CA (February 12, 2020) – The woman who was killed when she and her husband fell into an embankment from their driveway on Alto Drive in La Mesa has been identified by local authorities.
The crash originally took place on Monday afternoon, February 3rd, at around 3:50 p.m. The deceased victim has been identified as Beatrice Dapolito, 94.
Dapolito and her husband, 92, were in their 2003 Lexus ES 300 when the vehicle fell from their driveway in the Casa de Oro-Mount Helix neighborhood. Authorities believed the vehicle fell from the driveway, hitting a wall before continuing down the embankment and coming to a rest in the backyard of another home. Dapolito was pronounced dead, and her husband was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
