La Mesa, CA – Woman Killed After Car Plunges Down Hill on Alto Dr

La Mesa, CA (February 4, 2020) – A woman died and a man was seriously injured on Monday afternoon, February 3rd, after their car plummetted down a hill in La Mesa, California. The collision occurred when the vehicle fell off a private driveway on Alto Drive, sending the vehicle falling hundreds of feet down into a residential backyard on La Cruz Drive. For unknown reasons, the couple’s 2003 Lexus sedan fell at around 3:50 p.m. 

The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The driver was trapped in the vehicle. He had to be extricated and transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California. Both victims were believed to be in their 90s. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently underway.
