Deadly California Pedestrian Accidents
The vulnerability of a pedestrian on Californian roadways means they are susceptible to suffering from fatal injuries. The pedestrian fatality rate in the state is 30 times higher than the national average, showing how dangerous it can be to be a pedestrian in the Golden State. 689 pedestrians were killed in the state in 2018 alone.
The aftermath of a pedestrian accident often impacts the walker much more severely. Unlike those traveling in a motor vehicle, there is little protecting an exposed pedestrian from the full impact of a crash. In some cases, surviving family members can reach out to a qualified California wrongful death lawyer to pursue lost compensation.
