National City, CA – Pedestrian Injured at E 21st St & Highland Ave
National City, CA (February 11, 2020) – A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a pickup truck in National City, California on Monday, February 10th. The accident occurred at the intersection of East 21st Street and Highland Avenue at around 12:20 p.m. Initial reports revealed that the driver of the 2019 Toyota pickup truck was distracted at the time of the accident.
The injured pedestrian was using a designated crosswalk at the time of the accident. The 29-year-old man that hit the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The identity of the injured party hasn’t been released at this time.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
