Oceanside, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Crash at N Coast Hwy & Sportfisher Dr
Oceanside, CA (January 26, 2020) – A 22-year-old man was killed following a deadly pedestrian accident in Oceanside, California early Sunday morning, January 26th. Authorities reported that the collision took place near the intersection of North Coast Highway and Sportfisher Drive at around 1 a.m. The deceased pedestrian was reportedly attempting to cross the road when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle traveling on North Coast Highway.
The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and waited for authorities to arrive. Following the crash, the driver, identified as William Vaden, 31, was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
An investigation into the crash is currently being managed by local authorities.
