San Diego, CA (April 11, 2020) – A 59-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after colliding with the back of an SUV on Thursday afternoon. The accident reportedly occurred at the intersection of Clairemont Drive and Rappahannock Avenue at around 4:10 p.m. The woman was driving north on Clairemont Drive in a 2011 Toyota Corolla when she veered into the left lane and rear-ended a 2007 Jeep Wrangler.
The impact made the Jeep turn onto its side. The woman driving the Toyota was hospitalized for the treatment of life-threatening injuries. The 53-year-old man driving the Jeep was evaluated at the scene by responding paramedics.
No further details are known at this time. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
