San Diego, CA – Deadly Hit & Run Accident on Market St

San Diego, CA (January 26, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Sunday, January 19th, in San Diego, California. The deceased victim, Jason Gordon, 41, was hit at the 1800 block of Market Street at around 2 a.m. Christopher Nunez, 28, has been accused of striking and killing Gordon that fateful morning. 

Officials claim that Nunez struck Gordon with a 2008 GMC Envoy while the victim was attempting to cross the roadway, dragging him 100 feet. Witnesses reportedly saw Nunez at a local taco shop close to the scene of the crash inspecting his vehicle, presumably for any damage caused by the accident. Nunez was later taken into custody by the San Diego Police Department on Friday, January 24th.

Nunez is currently being charged with a felony count of hit-and-run causing death. The investigation into the crash is currently underway.
