San Diego, CA – Man Struck, Injured by Teen Driver on Beyer Blvd

San Diego, CA (April 12, 2020) – A 69-year-old man was struck in the Otay Mesa neighborhood of San Diego on Saturday night, April 11th. The man was reportedly crossing at the 3000 block of Beyer Boulevard when he was hit by a 2001 Mercedes-Benz C240 driven by a 19-year-old man. Authorities reported that the crash occurred just before 8:45 p.m. 

The driver was reportedly traveling north on the roadway when he struck the pedestrian who was walking south along the road. The pedestrian suffered open fractures to his left tibia, fibula, and along with other injuries. He was hospitalized for treatment following the crash. 

Neither alcohol or drugs were believed to be involved in the collision. The crash into the investigation is currently ongoing.
