San Diego, CA – Pedestrian Struck at 54th St & Trojan Ave

San Diego, CA (March 9, 2020) – A pedestrian was injured in a crash late last night on Sunday, March 8th, in San Diego. The accident took place on 54th Street, between El Cajon Boulevard and Trojan Avenue, at around 8:50 p.m. Local officials responded to the scene to render aid to the injured party. 

According to initial sources, a 61-year-old man driving a 1997 Honda Civic was traveling south on 54th Street when he swerved to attempt striking a pedestrian crossing the roadway. The right side of the Honda struck the 64-year-old man walking in the street. The injured pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, including a broken leg. 

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene. The investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
