San Diego, CA – UPDATE: 3 Identified in Deadly Camino Santa Fe Crash
San Diego, CA (March 17, 2020) – Local authorities have released the identities of three victims killed in a fatal wrong-way accident in Sorrento Valley neighborhood of San Diego on Friday, March 13th. The deceased parties were traveling in a car when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a pine tree. Authorities revealed that Michelle Roman, 18, Eliesel Rivera, 19, and Joseph Lopez, 19, were killed in the accident.
According to reports from officials, the victims were sitting in the front seat of a pickup truck that was speeding down Camino Santa Fe near Miratech Drive when the driver lost control of the vehicle at around 9:45 p.m. The pickup spun out, struck the median, and left the roadway, striking a tree and bursting into flames.
The 18-year-old woman driving the vehicle suffered third and fourth-degree burns in the crash. An ongoing investigation is currently underway.
