San Diego, CA – Woman Injured in DUI Crash on Clairemont Mesa Blvd
San Diego, CA (May 5, 2020) – On Monday night, a woman was seriously injured after being hit by an alleged drunk driver in San Diego. The accident occurred at the 5000 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at around 7 p.m. According to local reports, the 56-year-old woman was making a left turn onto Longford Drive from Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in a 2018 Honda CRV when she was hit by a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup truck.
The Dodge reportedly ran a red light and collided with the victim’s vehicle. It was reported that the woman suffered from internal bleeding, multiple back fractures, and bowel injuries resulting from the crash. Both parties were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The diver of the Dodge was arrested under the suspicion of driving under the influence. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
