Hit-&-Run Crashes in California
When a driver flees the scene of a crash without rendering aid and providing contact information, they’re committing what’s known as a hit-and-run, and that’s a crime in California. In 2016, 337 people were killed in hit-and-run accidents in the state. This is a 60 percent increase in hit-and-run fatalities since 2009.
Being injured in a crash can be devastating enough. When the driver leaves without first providing any form of assistance, it can be even more traumatic for victims. Injured parties or their families may be able to recover lost compensation by contacting a California car crash attorney.
