Chula Vista, CA – 70-Year-Old Woman Struck & Killed on Anita St

Chula Vista, CA (March 2, 2020) – A plumbing van fatally struck an elderly homeless woman on Saturday, March 1st, in Chula Vista, California. The 70-year-old woman was reportedly struck while crossing Anita Street near Broadway at around 6:30 p.m. The woman was dragged by the van for a short amount of time. 

The driver of the van claimed he did not see the woman in time to avoid the accident. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she later died. Her identity hasn’t been released at this time.

Local officials are conducting an investigation into the accident.
