Fallbrook, CA – UPDATE: 3rd Victim Identified in Deadly I-15 Bus Crash

Fallbrook, CA (February 25, 2020) – The third victim killed in the tragic charter bus crash in Fallbrook, California on Saturday, February 22nd has been identified. Cinthya Karely Rodriguez Banda, 24, of Mexico was killed in the crash, along with Maria De La Luz Diaz, 67, of Riverside, California and Julia Perez Cornejo, 73, Pasadena, California. The crash in question occurred when a charter bus carrying over 20 passengers fell into an embankment just south of CA-76 while traveling on I-15. 

Initial reports revealed that the driver lost control of the bus, swerving off the roadway into the 30-foot embankment. There were at least 18 other people injured in the crash, including a 5-year-old boy who was reportedly in critical condition. The charter bus, owned by Executive Lines, had reportedly left El Monte in Los Angeles County and was headed to San Ysidro, California. 

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
