Fallbrook, CA – UPDATE: Victim Identified in Deadly Old Hwy 395 Crash
Fallbrook, CA (February 19, 2020) – The identity of one of the victims killed in a deadly single-vehicle crash in Fallbrook, California on Sunday, February 16th, has been identified. The accident occurred near the intersection of Old Highway 395 and Reche Road at around 2:08 p.m. April Dawn Wigand, 39, was the passenger of a sports car when she was killed after the vehicle plummetted into a 30-foot embankment.
According to local sources, the driver of the car entered the oncoming lane of traffic to pass a slower-moving vehicle. The driver encountered oncoming traffic and swerved back into the northbound lane, losing control of the vehicle and running off the road. Both Wigand and the driver were pronounced dead at the scene.
An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently being managed by local authorities.
