Oceanside, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Crash on I-5 near Camp Pendleton
Oceanside, CA (January 31, 2020) – A pedestrian was fatally struck in Oceanside early Friday morning, January 31st. The crash occurred on Interstate-5 near the Aliso Creek Rest Area, close to Camp Pendleton.
At around 6:00 a.m., a person who had stopped their vehicle on the side of the highway was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
Local reports revealed that the deceased party attempted to cross the roadway at the time of the accident. The victim was killed on impact. The reason that the deceased victim entered the roadway is unknown at this time.
There were significant delays on the roadway following the collision. An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
