Oceanside, CA – UPDATE: Fatal Motorcycle Crash Victim Identified

Oceanside, CA (February 11, 2020) – The identity of a motorcyclist killed in a collision in Oceanside, California on Saturday afternoon, February 8th, has been released by local officials. Timothy James Bauer, 54, was traveling westbound on Oceanside Boulevard when he was struck by a truck hauling a trailer at around 1:45 p.m. Authorities arrived at the scene to render aid.

Bauer was pronounced dead by responding officials. The driver of the truck, Ron Estes, was taken into custody under suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Estes was allegedly making an illegal left-turn, leaving Bauer with little time to avoid the accident. 

An investigation into the crash is currently underway. More details will be released as it continues.
