Pedestrian Accidents in California
When a pedestrian is involved in an accident with a motor vehicle, they’re at risk of suffering from serious injuries. Unlike those in a car, there’s little to nothing to protect a pedestrian from the full impact of a collision. The streets of California are particularly dangerous for pedestrians.
The state has a pedestrian fatality rate that is 25 percent higher than the national average. 689 pedestrians lost their lives in California accidents in 2018 alone. Injured parties should consult with a qualified California pedestrian injury lawyer to pursue lost compensation.
