San Diego, CA – Crews Rescue Man Who Fell into 30-Foot Trench at UCSD

San Diego, CA (February 20, 2020) – Emergency response crews had to rescue a worker who had fallen into a 30-foot trench while at a construction site at the University of California San Diego on Thursday, February 20th. Reports revealed that the incident took place at around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Voigt Drive and Matthews Lane. The 20-year-old man had to be rescued via a pulley. 

The injured worker was transported to UCSD Medical Center after being rescued by emergency responders. He reportedly suffered from blunt-force injuries and burns after landing on a steam pipe. The identity of the injured party hasn’t been released at this time.

Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
