San Diego, CA – UPDATE: Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in I-15 Crash

San Diego, CA (April 27, 2020) – On Sunday, April 26th, a fiery crash in San Diego left a 51-year-old woman dead and her passenger severely burned. The San Diego woman was traveling south on I-15 in a 1999 Lincoln Town Car when she was rear-ended by a 2016 Kia Optima near I-8 at around 12:15 a.m. The crash caused the Lincoln to catch fire, with both parties trapped inside. 

Parties at the scene managed to rescue the passenger but were unable to extricate the driver. The passenger reportedly suffered severe burns. The other driver, a 26-year-old Spring Valley woman, was injured in the crash. No updates are available at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is being managed by the California Highway Patrol.
